This is a genuine replacement pair of 50mm flat grinding burrs for the Rocket Faustino coffee grinder. Flat burrs are the heart of the grinder — they determine grind consistency, particle size distribution, and ultimately the quality of your espresso. Replacing worn burrs restores grind uniformity and shot consistency, and is one of the most impactful maintenance tasks you can perform on a grinder.

When Should You Replace Grinder Burrs?

• Grind consistency has deteriorated — shots are channelling or extracting unevenly
• You need to grind significantly finer than before to achieve the same extraction time
• Grinder is producing excessive fines or a bimodal grind distribution
• Burrs show visible wear, chipping, or rounding on the cutting edges
• As a general rule: replace flat burrs every 500–1,000kg of coffee in commercial use

How to Replace Grinder Burrs

1. Unplug the grinder before opening any panels
2. Remove the hopper and upper burr carrier to access the burr set
3. Unscrew the old burrs from the upper and lower carriers
4. Clean the burr chamber thoroughly before fitting the new burrs
5. Install the new burrs, ensuring they seat flush and screws are tightened evenly
6. Reassemble and run a short seasoning grind (200–300g of coffee) before dialling in

Tip: After fitting new burrs, recalibrate your grind setting from scratch — new burrs will require a finer setting than worn ones.
