Isomac Expansion Valve — Genuine Replacement

The expansion valve (also called an OPV — over-pressure valve) regulates pump pressure during espresso extraction, typically set to release excess pressure above 9 bar. A faulty expansion valve can cause over-extraction, under-extraction, or inconsistent shot pressure. This is the correct replacement expansion valve for Isomac espresso machines.

Symptoms of a Faulty Expansion Valve

• Pump pressure gauge reads too high or too low during extraction
• Inconsistent shot pressure or flow rate
• Water bypassing the group head and returning to the tank
• Machine unable to reach or maintain 9 bar extraction pressure

Installation Notes

• Always unplug and fully depressurise the machine before replacing the expansion valve
• Note the orientation of the valve before removal
• Apply PTFE tape to threaded fittings as required
• After installation, run a test shot and check the pump pressure gauge reads approximately 9 bar during extraction
