Isomac Boiler Thermal Fuse — Safety Replacement
The thermal fuse (also called a thermal cutout or high-limit switch) is a one-time safety device mounted on the boiler of your Isomac espresso machine. If the boiler overheats beyond a safe threshold — due to a failed pressurestat, low water, or other fault — the thermal fuse blows permanently, cutting power to the heating element to prevent damage or fire. Once blown, it must be replaced; it cannot be reset.

Compatible Models
Fits Isomac espresso machines. Contact us with your model name to confirm compatibility before ordering.
How to Test the Thermal Fuse
Use a multimeter set to continuity mode. Disconnect the thermal fuse from the circuit and touch the probes to each terminal:
- Continuity (beep / low resistance) = fuse is intact and working
- OL (open loop / no continuity) = fuse has blown and must be replaced
Important: Find the Root Cause First
A blown thermal fuse is always a symptom of an underlying fault — not a fault in itself. Before fitting a new fuse, identify and fix the root cause (typically a failed pressurestat or low water condition). Replacing the fuse without fixing the underlying fault will result in the new fuse blowing again. Contact our service team if you need help diagnosing the root cause.
Installation Notes
- Always unplug the machine before replacing the thermal fuse
- The fuse is typically mounted directly on the boiler body with a clip or bracket
- Ensure the new fuse makes firm contact with the boiler surface for accurate temperature sensing
- Reconnect terminals securely — a loose connection can cause intermittent faults
