What Is a 2-Way Boiler Fill Solenoid Valve?

The 2-way fill solenoid valve (also called the boiler inlet solenoid or autofill solenoid) controls the flow of water from the mains supply into the boiler of your Conti commercial espresso machine. When the boiler water level drops, this valve opens to refill it automatically. A faulty fill solenoid can cause the boiler to overfill, fail to fill, or trigger low-water errors — making it a critical component for reliable machine operation.

How to Replace a Boiler Fill Solenoid Valve

  1. Isolate the machine from power and water supply; allow it to cool and depressurise
  2. Drain the boiler before disconnecting any water lines
  3. Locate the fill solenoid on the boiler inlet — typically connected to the water inlet line and the autofill probe circuit
  4. Disconnect the electrical coil connector and water fittings
  5. Fit the replacement valve, apply thread tape to BSP fittings, and reconnect all lines
  6. Restore water supply and power; test autofill operation and check for leaks

Tip: If the machine fills but won’t stop, check the autofill probe and level controller before replacing the solenoid — the valve may not be the root cause.

Warranty

Our ‘Certified Used’ and second-hand equipment is backed by a three-month parts-free warranty.

Brand new machine comes with a 1-year free parts warranty, but the parts come with a 3-month warranty.

Once the equipment is out of warranty, customers are responsible for meeting any repair costs.

No Restocking Fees
We believe in fair service. We charge $0.00 restocking fees for all eligible returns. You will receive a 100% refund of the product cost.
