Tools Required for Installation

• 30mm deep socket and ratchet — essential for removing the element from the boiler
• Phillips screwdriver

How to Know If Your Element Has Failed

Use a multimeter set to resistance (Ω) mode. Disconnect the element terminals and test across both terminals:

• 20–60Ω = element is working correctly
• OL (open loop) = element is blown and must be replaced
• Continuity between terminal and boiler body = element is shorting to earth — replace immediately

Installation Notes

• Always unplug the machine and allow it to cool fully before starting
• Tip the machine on its side after removing the old element to drain residual water from the boiler
• Tighten firmly with the 30mm deep socket — do not overtighten
• Replace the gasket every time the element is removed — reusing an old gasket risks leaks
